Safety Planning
This course aims to support frontline professionals in developing the knowledge and skills needed to effectively identify risk and create SMART safety plans that support the needs of a victim/survivor.
Description
Within our training you will understand how safety plans can be approached, and how it is tailored to individual circumstances. SMART safety planning should address immediate safety concerns and remain adaptable to changes in circumstances.
Our training is personalised to a victim/survivor scenario and identifies specific actions to enhance their protection and minimise the risk of harm.
Learning objectives
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to:
- Understand the reasons to safety plan.
- Understanding of DA Awareness and the key principles of safety planning.
- Understanding SPECSSS and identifying the risks.
- How often to safety plan; factual, measurable and realistic.
- How to use AVAA and SMART safety planning.

This course is designed for frontline practitioners who support victim-survivors of domestic abuse, including:
- Housing professionals
- Neighbourhood and community safety teams
- Frontline support workers and advocates
- Law enforcement officers
- Social workers and safeguarding teams
- Charity and third-sector workers
Location
- Live online training delivered via Zoom using Mentimeter
- In-Person at your venue (or a venue arranged by yourselves)
Course Timings
This course contains 1 Module and is 3.5 hours long
This includes a comfort break, space for questions and time for the delegates to evaluate and reflect after the delivery

This fee is for up to 20 delegates (minimum 6 delegates to run a course).
We prefer to cap attendance at 20 to ensure all delegates feel able to fully engage. However, we can accommodate a maximum of 5 additional delegates upon request. Each additional delegate will incur a fee of £100pp
