This interactive training equips frontline practitioners with the essential skills and confidence to apply Motivational Interviewing when supporting victim-survivors of domestic abuse. Through a combination of theory, real-world case studies, and practical exercises, participants will explore the principles of Motivational Interviewing, the stages of change, and trauma-informed approaches that help build trust and engagement. The session emphasises the importance of tailoring support to address the complex, intersecting barriers that survivors face. Participants will also have the opportunity to share best practices, enhance their reflective listening skills, and gain awareness of referral pathways and signposting options.

Prerequisite:
Participants must have completed domestic abuse awareness training before attending this session. This ensures a strong foundational understanding of domestic abuse dynamics, coercive control and risk factors, enabling meaningful engagement with the course content.
